Movers & Shakers offers two options for High ropes activities: |
|
· Adventure High Rope Challenge Course - Built on and amongst the islands of the Pienaars River. The course provides a challenge for the team as a whole, as well as the individual. |
Activities such as river crossings, swinging logs, cargo net crossings and a Burma V bridge focus the delegates on teamwork, problem solving techniques and determination. |
|
· Formal High Ropes - utilizes the centralised tower structure with 4 to 5 elements all structured around a central tower. |
Initially this was designed to work with the rehabilitation of teenage addicts in the U.S. and enables facilitators and leaders to work with delegates at the same level in order to encourage them and easy the stress of overcoming their fears. |
Both of these specially designed high rope exercises can be extremely effective when encouraging people to take on challenges that may seem daunting at first. |
They can also become significant reference points for delegates to change their attitude on approaching a daunting task, because they have learned that they are able to overcome. |
The objectives of these adventures can be varied, ranging from a fun reward experience through to really studying how effective teams work. |
Regardless of what approach and objectives are set, there will be a tangible feeling of team bonding once the challenges have been overcome together. |
Bearing in mind that Movers & Shakers’ core principle is never to force anyone to do anything, we nevertheless are experienced in encouraging people out of their comfort zones. |
Sometimes this needs to be done through a series of de-sensitization activities which are designed to gradually increase each delegates’ sense of achievement and victory to the point that they feel ready to take on the bigger challenges. |
In this instance a series of low rope courses are used to achieve exactly this. |
Don’t be disillusioned though, these low ropes facilities are extremely effective and exciting. In fact, they are quite easily used as a full event on their own. |
